Huggles KNOWS kids; she used to be one!!!
After dealing with children for all my life and clowning for 17 years, I know what to say and do to entertain yet respect your children. I know that even the most timid child, usually warms up to the clown when she makes the first balloon animal. A child who is afraid to get his/her face painted, usually changes his/her mind when the other children begin to get painted and are enjoying it. Sometimes the most shy child at the beginning, will be my best friend by the time I leave the party. Recently a little girl of the age of 3, who clung to her mom when I arrived, was giving me that little sad face when I had to leave and said, "You got to go home???????????????" I absolutely will not "push myself" on a child who is afraid. I let them know it is ok to be afraid of strangers.
